Toy & Miniature sized Australian Shepherds (Aussies) are not currently
recognized by CKC or AKC.

The Miniature Australian Shepherd is Registered by the National Stock
Dog Registry (NSDR) who was the very first Registry of todays CKC
Registered Australian Shepherds. NSDR Recognizes the Miniature
Australian Shepherd as a Size Variety of the Australian Shepherd.

Our Toy & Mini Aussies are registered with either ASDR (American
Stock Dog Registry), NSDR (National Stock Dog Registry), and/or
NAMASCUSA (North American Miniature Australian Shepherd Club of
the United States) and/or MASCA (Miniature Australian Shepherd Club
of America), or IMASC.
Our Aussies are not mixed with smaller breeds to make them small.  They
are simply bred medium sized Aussie to small Aussie.

NEWS:  AKC has accepted the "Miniature Aussie" into FSS but only for
those who are willing to change their breed name to "Miniature American
Shepherd."  Some smaller registered AKC "standard" Australian
Shepherds are also switching to the new breed.  Miniature American
Shepherds will now be a SEPERATE breed from Australian Shepherds of
ALL sizes.  At this time, my dogs will remain Australian Shepherds of the
Mini and Toy variety and will not have their breed name, breed standard
and breed history changed.
